Your Gifts Matter
Your support not only helps the youngest in our community to thrive today, but it also helps hands them a path to opportunity for their tomorrow. A rich, nurturing, and supportive childhood experience can propel a child to successful adult life. On the Society for Human Relations Management website, in an article called Business Investment in Early Childhood Education = Future Skilled workforce, makes the case for the value of investing in early childhood education. By age 5, children are “developing social skills that are the types of skills that we require in the future workforce — like making good decisions, the ability to have empathy—these skills are really just hard to develop in the workplace, these critical skills need to be developed over a lifetime. Employers know, most of these children are going to end up working in our communities… so you’re investing back into your own community, you’re investing back into your own state. It’s the right thing to do for your community today, but it’s also the right thing to do for your future workforce. The Children’s Center maintains an overall score of 100 on Charity Navigator.
Disadvantaged families are least likely to have the economic and social resources to provide the successful early developmental stimulation every child needs as a basic opportunity for future success in school, college, career, and life. Poor health, high school dropouts, poverty, crime — America will continue to create costly economic and social burdens if it fails to provide disadvantaged families with the resources they need for effective early childhood development.
